This classic 911 has adopted the 993 Turbo style for aerodynamics, weight reduction and aestheics. What remains of the 1973 tub is the structural cage /chassis. Those metal parts were lightened wherever possible, and only the dash remains of the original interior. The full roll cage increases structural integrity and stiffness, adding substantially to the safety for the driver. With side channels added to the cage, the door panels were taken down to metal shell and quick release latches were added.

Then 993 Turbo style lightweight fiberglass fenders, hoods, bumpers and rockers were applied. The strength and durability of these parts are amazing. They are attached with the simple but secure 1/4 turn Duez fasteners.

One area of the racecar that could use some attention is the painted surfaces. They are in fair condition but road-rash has taken its toll in a few area. Also the front hood had to be replaced after it blew off at 120mph, apparently due to an unfastened hood latch. Have replaced it with a new hood and left it primered in plans for a more extensive paint project. Use of vinyl film with car number cut out, as seen below here, is a trial color scheme.

The wing is supplied by Fabcar Engineering. Its angle is adjustable over 15 degrees to optimize downforce for various track setups.
